SUMMARY:United Way Greater New Milford Annual Back-to-School Program
DESCRIPTION:For 35 years the United Way Coastal & Western CT has helped students from struggling families in Greater New Milford towns begin their school year feeling prepared and self-confident.  This program continues due to the dedication of volunteers and generous donors. \nItems needed for each book bag: \nBelow are quantities of items typically packed in each bookbag.(Quantities of items may vary slightly depending upon grade) \n#2 pencils –  3 dozen\, Ballpoint pens – 3 dozen\, Hi-Lighters – 2 packages\, Colored pencils – 2 packages\, Crayons – 2 boxes\, Washable Markers – 1 package\, Composition notebooks – 3 minimum\, Spiral bound notebooks – 6 minimum\, 2-Pocket folders – 10 minimum\nItems NOT needed: Backpacks\, 3-ring binders\, Calendars or journals\, reusable water bottles \n If you prefer to donate individual items\, i.e.\, 12 boxes of pens or pencils\, 50 folders\, etc.   That’s GREAT! SUMMARY:Adaptive Nature Hike in July @ Deer Pond Farm in Sherman
DESCRIPTION:SOAR Experiences is partnering with Deer Pond Farm to offer guided adaptive hikes for persons with limited mobility on customized Action Trackchairs. You will explore wide gravel trails traversing diverse habitats with CT Audubon naturalists and the SOAR team. The chairs move at a walking pace of 2 – 3 miles per hour\, are quiet and are customized for each guest by the SOAR Experiences staff. Bring a friend or family member to enjoy the trails with us!  Pre-Registration is required at SOARexperiences.org. Rain date: July 17.
